BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING 

August 9, 2006

      Members present: Charlotte Sterk, Michael Chaput, Chris Hallman, and Deborah Patch

      Members absent: Bob Burden

      The City Secretary called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. in the Town Hall and stated that the first item was to elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman for the year.

• 1. Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman: Motion by Sterk to elect Michael Chaput as Chairman and Chris Hallman as Vice Chairman; second by Patch. Motion passed with all in favor. The City Secretary turned the meeting over to Chairman Chaput, who called for the next item.
• 2. Request for a variance to the side yard setback requirement along White Street for the retail development known as Village Green: Leah Hopkins and Nancy Berg were present to represent the item. Mrs. Hopkins presented a drawing of the proposed addition to the Board and explained the reason for the request. After discussion of other possible locations and the noise factor, a motion was made by Patch that the request for a seven-foot variance to the side yard setback along White Street for a distance of 10 feet starting at the northwest corner of the restaurant building be approved as shown on the drawing; second by Sterk. Motion passed with all in favor.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
