Board members present were: Chairman Barnell Albers, Billy Howk, Charlie Anderson, and Jacquelyn Ditsler. Member Bill Zeltwanger was absent.
The City Secretary read the minutes of the June 26, 2005 meeting, pointing out a typographical error. Motion by Anderson to approve the minutes as corrected; second by Ditsler. Motion passed with all in favor.
The Board considered the following items:
•1. Reconsideration of ruling that the block bordered by Bauer-Rummel Road, White Street, Wantke Street, and Hwy 237 (known as Village Green) be considered one lot: After discussion of possible future uses and which streets border front yards, a motion was made by Ditsler that Bauer-Rummel Road and Wantke Street be considered the front yard sides of the bordering lots; second by Anderson. Motion passed with all in favor. The following setbacks now apply:
Wantke Street 20'
Bauer-Rummel Road 20'
White Street 15'
Hwy 237 15'
There was a discussion about the placement of the building to be moved on the lot at the corner of White and Wantke Streets, and it was decided that Bill Zeltwanger and Billy Howk would check on the proposed placement. Chairman Albers also suggested that the building be placed on lower blocks.
•2. Installation of a swimming pool at 445 E. Mill Street: After review of the application, a motion was made by Ditsler to approve the permit to install a swimming pool at 445 East Mill Street; second by Howk. Motion passed with all in favor. The letter to the applicant is to state that any fencing will require an additional permit.
•3. Moving a 20' x 30' building from Bybee Road to 207 W. Mill Street: Scotty Lynch was present to represent the item. She stated that the correct dimensions of the building are 30' x 30'. After determining that the building will be used for storage, Albers requested that the building be placed as close to the 25' rear yard setback line as possible. Motion by Howk to approve the permit to move a 30' x 30' building from Bybee Road to the back of the property at 207 West Mill Street; second by Anderson. Motion passed with all in favor.
•4. Construction of a 14' x 10' storage shed with an attached covered lawnmower parking area at 304 W. Mill Street: Motion by Howk to approve the permit to construct a 14' x 10' storage shed with an attached 8' x 14' covered lawnmower parking area at 304 West Mill Street, with the following conditions:
Front yard 20 feet
Side yard 10 feet
Rear yard 25 feet;
second by Ditsler. Motion passed with all in favor. A reminder that any fencing will require additional approval is to be included in the letter to the applicant.
•5. Other business: Since there has been no response from Mr. Douglas, the Board instructed the City Secretary to give him until August 8 and then to send him a strongly worded letter. She was also instructed to call Mr. Rosengren to remind him to submit the elevation drawings for the new guesthouse. The meeting scheduled for July 31 will be cancelled, unless an urgent submission comes in during the next week.
Meeting adjourned at 6:22 p.m.
